Pinching Pennies

One thing most adopting families have in common is pinching pennies. There are many ways to do this and many websites with great tips on how to. One thing I started doing is cutting the boys' hair at home. The girls have never been to a "hair cut place" (to have their hair cut) as they used to call it when we would take the boys to the barber shop. And so we pick an evening, line them up, 1-2-3-4 and cut.

I even do the very professional hold-the-comb-in-your-mouth move while styling!

The next morning, off to church, with their fresh new hair-dos.

  5. Hi Kelly - It's nice to "meet" you. Thanks for your comment on my blog. Cutting hair intimidates me, but thankfully I have a sister who is willing to cut our kids hair for us! Although my hubbie cuts the boys hair... and his own!!

  6. I want to be able to do this but am so scared to try!!! My 3.5 year old screams like crazy when he gets his haircut and my hubby buzzes it for me right now, but we take him somewhere in the wintertime for a real cut. And my daughter's... well I don't know where to begin to get it straight! I think you need to do another blog post with directions. ;) ;)

  8. You are brave, woman! I cut Ben's hair - it's Ella's that I'm afraid of. She has decided that she wants her hair to grow long, so I think I'm going to try to do it at home. I just cut her bangs myself the other day. I was quite nervous. ;) But you know, we're trying to save money for the best reason of all! ;) DEFINITELY worth it!
